OFBJP observed the Punya Tithi of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on March 7th 09 in New Jersey. Shri Rakshapal Sood was the main speaker at the event. He spoke about the life of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyayji and his contribution to the community. Shri Sood said the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyayji detested fame and never sought any position. Pandit Deendayalji dedicated his entire life at the altar of Mother India. He practiced what he preached. His leadership was rooted in a holistic philosophical outlook that embraced Nature, Humanity, Nation and the Individual; now has been known as “INTEGRAL HUMANISM”. Pandit Deendayalji was a politician who was least fascinated by power, but still wielded enormous moral authority over his followers. Pandit Deendayalji built a solid foundation of Bharatiya Jana Sangh as its first General Secretary, which immensely contributed to make its later incarnation, the Bharatiya Janata Party as a worthy alternative to the Congress. After completing his
Post Graduation with distinction, Deendayalji decided to devote his entire life to the cause of nation and become pracharak of RSS, and when Bharatiya Jana Sangh was founded under the leadership of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee he was entrusted the task of building this organization from grass roots as the first General Secretary and later on President.

Shri Jayesh Patel, Shri Ram Kamath and others spoke at the well attended event. Shri Krishna Reddy informed the audience about a new website, www.nri4bjp.org.
